Suited Coffee, founded by finance professional turned coffee connoisseur Brian Martinez, dares
to break the mold in a world oversaturated with mediocre coffee. With an entrepreneur’s drive,
Martinez has built Suited Coffee Co. into an artisanal brand that takes the coffee experience
beyond the ordinary.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the brand’s color palette – dominated by classic black
and white packaging – communicates a deeper message. It evokes a sense of professionalism and
class, connecting with consumers on a psychological level. “At Suited Coffee, we embody the
values of unity, class, elegance, and professionalism,” said Martinez. “Our goal is to be a
world-class leader in the coffee industry and to operate as an ethical, transparent, and highly
customer-focused coffee roaster.” This dedication to his customers extends into every facet of his
business; unlike many large-scale coffee companies that prioritize efficiency over sustainability,
Suited Coffee uses a more responsible approach. Their small-batch roasting model minimizes
waste and reduces their carbon footprint. By roasting only as orders come in, Martinez ensures
maximum freshness while doing his part for the environment
But Martinez knows that coffee is not only about taste – it is about community. Suited Coffee
Co. actively engages with the local coffee culture in Southern California through pop-up events,
collaborations, and coffee conventions like Coffee Fest in Orange County. This year, they also
plan to cater to a unique intersection of interests by partnering with Cars & Coffee meetups,
where car enthusiasts can enjoy a high-quality brew while bonding over their passion for
automobiles. Through these events, Suited Coffee Co. creates experiences that bring people
together. Martinez envisions the company as a force for good, with future plans to support
charities and foundations that assist children battling illnesses. “I want to touch peoples’ hearts
and contribute to making a real difference in the world,” Martinez shared.
Unlike standard commercial coffee, which is often produced in bulk, Suited Coffee Co. takes a
careful approach to sourcing beans. Martinez works closely with coffee traders who have
firsthand experience tasting the beans, then personally tests each batch through pour-over
brewing before balancing ratios to create the perfect mix. With this tasting process, Martinez
aims to challenge the idea that all coffee is the same. “Many people don’t realize the vast
difference between specialty arabica coffee and lower-quality robusta coffee,” he explained.
“Arabica beans are delicate, complex, and grown at high altitudes, making them superior in taste
and quality. In contrast, robusta beans are easier to grow but often result in a harsh, bitter flavor,
which is why most instant coffees rely on them.”
At Suited Coffee, education is just as important as the product itself. The brand strives to inform
consumers about what goes into a truly exceptional cup of coffee. Arabica coffee, despite
containing slightly less caffeine than robusta, offers a smoother, more refined drinking
experience with unique flavor notes. With a distinctive set of offerings, including the Executive
Blend, Mindset, and The Morning After, each Suited Coffee blend features different taste
profiles and richness levels. In contrast, robusta coffee’s earthy taste often requires copious
amounts of sugar and creamer to be palatable. “Good quality coffee should never leave you
feeling jittery or upset your stomach,” Martinez noted.
Despite his dedication to growing Suited Coffee, Martinez understands the importance of
balance. He maintains a disciplined fitness routine as his personal form of therapy, ensuring that
he stays motivated. “I don’t negotiate with myself when it comes to going to the gym. No matter
what time it is, I make the effort,” he says. Martinez also frequently attends high-profile events
like LA Swim Week, where he networks within the industry.
A movement that stands for quality over quantity, Suited Coffee Co. is redefining what artisanal
coffee can be. Brian Martinez invites coffee lovers everywhere to suit up and savor something
extraordinary with Suited Coffee Co
